About Our Chapter. Baker University, established in 1858, was the first college in Kansas. It's Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter, established in 1910, was it's first SigEp chapter, making the chapter the Kansas Alpha chapter. Since 1910, Kansas Alpha has been very successful.
