The trail has bathrooms just in case you have to go. I recall seeing three such facilities on our ride. We rode the Capital Crescent trail the first 2.25 miles and then crossed over to the C&O canal trail. The 1st mile or so on the C&O trail is a bit rough, but it becomes less jagged afterwards.
