Honestly I've found the best way to manage boredom is to just read books/comic books/magazines if I'm staying inside. That also improves happiness. If you're a smoker, cigarettes will also improve happiness, and freshly cooked food is one of the best ways to quickly reduce depression. Add some condiments and it helps with boredom too.
