It seems that if you had two nodes connected via a layer mixer, then deleted the layer mixer and plugged one of the nodes directly into the Main Output, Davinci Resolve will glitch and the nodes will turn gray (and any adjustments to the nodes will have no effect). In the Color page go to the video screen, right mouse click on the frame you want to export and select grab still. In the Stills panel right click on the still and export to your desired format. But make sure your timeline is set the resolution of your media as the still outputs at timeline resolution.
