It's certainly a nice, restorable unit. I'm offering up to the community a Pony Carbs restored/replated 4088 with date code 834. I think that translates into 1968, March, 4th week. It's too late for either of my cars, but perfect for late March through the end of production. It probably has about 200 miles on it.GM really likes to use similar codes, the 327 SBC was made with 6 RPO codes- L30, L74, L75, L76, L79, and L84. While GM used the 327 at some point in most models in the 1960s, the L76 and L84 are Corvette only. ... The Holley 3245 carb was only used on the 1966 Chevy II L79. Carbs built for factory install on those cars had 3 digit date codes. In 1973, Holley went to 4 digit Julian calendar date codes. 047 is February. The '6' is not likely 1986 or 1996, so it makes sense it's 1976.
